Over 130 lots in an auction taking place in London at the end of April are Leica cameras, one of which is a rare Leica Elmax (serial no.360) with an estimate of £12,000 - £18,000.
The Leica Elmax started around serial no. 280 up to around 1300 and camera serial numbers around 500 or lower have the earlier "Anastigmat" lens while serial numbers 500 onwards have the later 'Elmar' design.
Leica Elmax owners often returned their cameras to the factory for upgrades, but the example going up for auction, with a Leitz Elmax f/3.5 50mm lens, is 98% original and not upgraded.

The auction will take place on 27 April at Stoke Newington West Reservoir Centre, Green Lanes, London N4 2HA at 10am.
Back in March, another rare Leica camera made history selling for 2.1 million pounds at auction.
