Rollei are now supplying the 40mm f/2.8 lens for their Rollei 35RF rangefinder
camera separately. Originally only sold in a kit with the 35RF the lens can
now also be bought by Leica M users.
The Sonnar lens is recognised as a Carl Zeiss Classic design and has been used
by many quality camera marques for many years. Rollei used the Sonnar in their
Classic Rollei 35S.
Photographers looking for the ultimate in lens resolution and image contrast
can rely on the Sonnar to create the finest images.
The compact designed lens has five elements in four groups and focuses down
to 0.7m. It has a light weight metal construction and rapid focus spar making
it ideal for candids and press photography. The camera's built-in viewfinder
adjusts to the correct field of view for the 40mm lens at the flick of a switch.
The Leica M10 is the latest rangefinder to join Leica's legendary M-System line-up but does it live up to the famous name? We give our first impressions as we get hands-on with the new camera.
