A Russian photographer has created a DIY camera rig that can capture excellent macro photos of snowflakes.

Alexey Kljatov's setup involves taping an old Russian lens to a point and shoot camera with a piece of glass in the middle, and the whole thing is screwed onto a board.

He uses an upside down stool with a piece of glass rested on top and the camera pointing face down to create these beautiful images of snowflakes, each one of them unique.
