The only thing you need to add is 5 AAA batteries.

TriggerBeam PRO Kit Features

SabreSwitch TriggerBeam Pro TBP-1 Remote Trigger Review: TriggerBeam Pro (1)
The TriggerBeam PRO Kit is a long range infrared beam device. It is designed to easily capture images using InfraRed Beam Breaking, meaning that anything that goes in between the two devices will trigger the camera. A variety of stills and video cameras can be used, digital as well as film based. The IR Beam range is at least 20 meters in daylight and up to 30 meters in darkness.

The TriggerBeam PRO can be connected directly to the cameras remote trigger socket or it can be connected to the TriggerSmart MCT-1 control unit, offering the ability to tune the sensitivity of the sensors and delaying the triggering of the capture device. Choice of single exposures or continuous shooting over given time spans are also possible.

TriggerBeam PRO Kit Handling

The controls on the device are very easy to use, with one switch, which is used to switch each device on, when used on it's own, or the main device can be switched to be controlled with the TriggerSmart controller. When used with the TriggerSmart controller you don't need to put any batteries in the main TriggerBeam, as it can then get its power from the controller unit. You simply need to line up the beam so that the sender and receiver are correctly lined up, when the signal is broken by something entering the infrared path, this will then trigger the camera to shoot.

Battery life is rated at 60 hours, which should outlast most cameras, unless you are using a power adapter with your camera. The TriggerBeam, uses 2x AAA batteries in one unit and 3x AAA batteries in the Infrared sender. To put the batteries in, you need to undo two Philips screws and open the units.

Sabre Switch TriggerBeam Pro TBP-1 Sample Photos

The TriggerBeam PRO works very well, detecting the rapid and often quick moving squirrels. It's then down to your camera whether it can correctly and quickly focus on the subjects. We used auto focus for these photos with the Canon EOS 7D Mark II, and placed nuts in the same position to encourage the squirrels to pause briefly when they would be in the correct position to break the infrared beam. The TriggerBeam and camera took several hundred photos, and was able to quickly trigger the camera as soon as the squirrel entered the sensor's detection area. The sensor was more precise than the TriggerScout PIR and with smaller subjects the beam was not always broken.

Value For Money

The TriggerBeamPRO kit is available for £118 (including VAT) from RobertWhite, which makes it good value for money as a complete kit, ready to use. There are a number of other remote triggers available on the market, including the TriggerScout PIR kit

First time back on here for a while and I have to say that I find this review of the SabreSwitch remote trigger kit to be quite disjointed and poorly written. Is it just me?

The kit would not be my choice for nature work, no matter how well the review could be written.
