Samsung have announced the availability date for the Galaxy Fold, after issues with the screen meant that the launch was delayed.
| Samsung Galaxy Fold in Camera PhonesThe Samsung Galaxy Fold has had a rocky road to market, after initial reviewers discovered pretty serious flaws in the screen.
In light of these, Samsung took the phone back to the drawing board to make some amendments. The phone should have been available in May of this year, but was delayed, and Samsung have announced today that it will be available from 18 September in the UK on EE.
The Galaxy Fold features 6 cameras and a 7.3-inch Infinity flex display.
When folded, the device has a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOILED cover screen with a 10-megapixel f/2.2 selfie camera. To the rear is a triple camera setup with 16mp ultra-wide f/2.2, 12mp wide-angle Dual Pixel AF OIS f/1.5-2.4 and 12mp telephoto PDAF OIS f/2.4 camera with 2x optical zoom.
When unfolded to reveal the 7.3-inch QXVGA+ Dynamic AMOLED screen there's a dual camera with 10mp f/2.2 selfie camera and 8mp RGB f/1.9 depth camera. There's a massive 12GB RAM and 512GB storage as well as a powerful 4380hAH battery.
The Galaxy Fold is available in the UK via an exclusive operator partnership with EE, and will also be available through Samsung Experience stores. The device will also be displayed at Samsung KX, Harrods and Selfridges for customers to experience.
