Samsung Galaxy S8 And S8 Plus Announced

Samsung has announced the new Galaxy S8 and S8+, with an ultra thin bezel around the screen. Both smartphones feature enhanced front cameras, compared to the Samsung Galaxy S7. The camera also features enhanced multi-frame image processing, and both smartphones feature:

• 12mp main camera, f/1.7, auto-focus, dual-pixel, 1.4micron pixel size, 4K video
• 8mp front camera, f/1.7, with auto-focus and 80 degree FOV
• Pro mode: ISO, Shutter speed, Exposure, Colour tone, Manual focus, and WB (White Balance) settings with raw shooting
• Selective focus (Bokeh effect), close, far, and pan focus

The Samsung Galaxy S8 has a 5.8inch screen, and 3000mAh battery, and is priced at £689 (sim-free), the S8+ has a 6.2inch screen, a 3500mAh battery, and is priced at £779 (sim-free), and they both feature a high resolution 2960x1440 touch-screen. They are available from the 19th April.

Both smartphones are waterproof to 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes, and can be expanded with MicroSD memory. There is a USB Type C connector, and a headphone socket.

Samsung are also showing a new Gear 360 (2017) camera, which is a 4K 360 camera that is also suitable for live streaming. The new S8 and S8+ smartphones can be connected to a monitor, keyboard and mouse and used as a computer, using the optional DeX Station.
