Samsung PRO EVO Memory Card Performance
To test the read and write times of these cards, we used a USB 3.0 card reader and CrystalDiskMark 3.0.1 x64. For digital cameras, the write time is the most important aspect as this determines how quickly you can write photos from the camera to the card. The read time is important when you want to copy the photos from the card onto your PC or view them in playback mode on the camera.

While read and write speeds from the Samsung PRO SD card are not as quick as specified on the box, the card does deliver high read and write speeds, and slightly quicker performance than the Sandisk Extreme Pro card. The Samsung card is also quicker than a number of other high speed cards.
The MicroSD card delivers quick read speeds, and reasonable write speeds, although is not able to keep up with the high speed SD memory cards.
Value For Money
The Samsung PRO 32GB SD card is available for £41.99, compared to around £43 for a Sandisk Extreme Pro card, while the Samsung EVO 32GB MicroSD card is available for £22.50 with the adapter, compared to around £16 for a Sandisk Ultra with adapter.
Samsung PRO EVO Memory Card Verdict
The Samsung PRO SDHC memory card offers some of the fastest read and write speeds available as well as offering a 10 year warranty that is also backed up by the card being waterproof, temperature proof, x-ray proof, magnet proof and shock proof, making it much more likely to survive when compared to more fragile cards. We would therefore be happy to recommend the Samsung PRO SDHC memory cards.
The Samsung EVO MicroSDHC card offers reasonably quick read and write speeds, and is also much more competitively priced. The Samsung EVO card offers a similar level of toughness, and for those that need a MicroSD card, it would be a good choice, although for the quickest performance the Samsung PRO SD cards are recommended.
