Available as both microSDHC or SDHC cards, they come with a 10 year warranty and the latest models are Class 10 cards so should be extremely quick. We find out how the SDHC and microSDHC cards perform in our tests.

Samsung SDHC / MicroSDHC Handling and Performance
We tested these cards with CrystalDisk to see how fast they could read and write and also tested the 16GB SDHC card as well:
Read | Write | |
Samsung microSDHC 8GB Class 10 | 20.03MB/s | 17.56MB/s |
Samsung SDHC 8GB Class 10 | 19.91MB/s | 17.47MB/s |
Samsung SDHC 16GB Class 10 | 19.92MB/s | 17.46MB/s |
The read and write speeds are very good, with some of the best write speeds we've seen. The write speed are important when copying content to the cards. The write speeds are also most important when shooting on a camera and can effect continuous shooting and shot to shot time.
We tested these cards with a Panasonic Lumix G1 with 3fps continuous shooting and using these cards we were able to take over 50 shots with no signs of slowdown. With a slower card we were only able to take 8 continuous shots and then the camera slowed to around 1 frame a second. See how the Samsung cards rank in our Top 14 Quickest Memory Cards article.
Value For Money
The Samsung cards are priced slightly higher than other memory cards with the 8GB MicroSDHC card available for around £10 and the 8GB SDHC card available for around £9. However the additional protection from them being water, shock and magnet proof and the 10 year warranty means that they are much more likely to survive everyday life, which could in turn protect your photos. With the 8GB card storing around 2000 photos (at 10megapixels) we think the extra level of protection is well worth it. We tested one of the MicroSDHC cards to destruction and found their claims of protection to be true.
Samsung SDHC / MicroSDHC Verdict
The Samsung 8GB MicroSDHC Plus and 8GB SDHC Plus Class 10 memory cards perform extremely well, with some of the fastest read and write speeds available. They offer some of the best protection available for your photos and come with a 10 year warranty. They are also available for an extremely reasonable price. We've been using them for several months now and had no problems with them at all, which makes it very easy to Highly Recommend these memory cards.
