Samyang Firmware Updates Enhances Auto Focus Performance & Face Detection

Samyang Optics has announced 4 firmware updates for its Sony E mount autofocus lenses which includes the AF 14mm f/2.8 RF and AF 85mm f/1.4 RF.

Samyang has introduced firmware updates for its Sony E mount autofocus lenses, which are available now, and will improve the autofocus (AF) and/or face detection performance of 4 popular lenses.

Firmware Update Details:

Samyang AF 18mm f/2.8 FE Firmware Update Version 3 - Improved AF
Samyang AF 24mm f/2.8 FE Firmware Update Version 6 - Improved AF & Face Detection performance in video mode
Samyang AF 35mm f/2.8 FE Firmware Update Version 6 - Improved AF & Face Detection performance in video mode
Samyang AF 45mm f/1.8 FE Firmware Update Version 4 - Improved AF & Face Detection performance in video mode

Also, Samyang recently updated the firmware for its RF mount lenses: AF 14mm f/2.8 RF and AF 85mm f/1.4 RF. Samyang is the first 3rd party lens company to introduce an autofocus lens lineup for RF mount. Both these products were released prior to the announcement of R5 and R6 cameras (AF 14mm in October 2019 and AF 85mm in May 2020), but the firmware was updated right after the new cameras hit the market in August.
