The Scottish Seabird Centre is currently accepting entries for its 2013 Nature Photography Competition.
With a closing date of Friday 27 October, enthusiastic amateur wildlife and nature photographers are being urged to enter the competition before the deadline.
The competition seeks to identify the best of photography talent from around the world, with an exclusive prize list. Shortlisted entries will appear in a special exhibition in the Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick from 15th November, and visitors will be able to nominate their favourite photograph in a special ‘public vote’ alongside the judge’s award winning selection. For 2013, there will be particular relevance in the ‘Scottish Wildlife’ category during the Year of Natural Scotland.
A fantastic prize awaits the winner in each category: the opportunity to join Lorne on an exclusive boat trip from North Berwick on one of the Scottish Seabird Centre RIBs to the magical Isle of May National Nature Reserve, which is under the care of Scottish Natural Heritage, where they will pick up hints and tips from Lorne on how to take the perfect wildlife and landscape shots in this magical environment. The trip will be hosted in spring to coincide with the return of the puffins at the start of their 2014 breeding season.
