| SeaLife DC2000 in Compact Cameras
SeaLife has announced the World's first underwater digital camera with a 1inch CMOS sensor, which should give better low-light and underwater performance than a normal compact camera. The DC2000 uses a Sony 20 megapixel 1inch BSI CMOS sensor, plus a bright f/1.8 31mm equivalent lens.
The camera comes with 4 underwater shooting modes, plus 3 built-in underwater digital color correction filters including shallow water (snorkelling), deep water (diving), or "green" water for when there is algae bloom. There's also manual white balance control.
The inner camera is waterproof to 18m (60ft) on it's own, or with the provided housing down to 60m (200ft), and it's also buoyant when inside the housing. The underwater camera can be expanded with Sea Dragon Flash(es), Photo-Video Lights and SeaLife SL975 Fisheye lens (110 degrees), or Compact Wide Angle Lens (SL970) for 90 degrees.
