Here's one cut in half, right through the middle of the tripod socket. You can see the complexity of the electronic viewfinder optics quite clearly here, as well as the lens, and the distance between the rear lens element, and the sensor. The Nikon Z 6 and Z 7 use a Nikon Z lens mount, with a large diameter, and short flange distance between the lens and the sensor, which is said to give Nikon an advantage when it comes to making bright lenses. They're shown a lens roadmap for 2019 and 2020.

The full-frame sensor in the two cameras differ, with the Z 6 featuring a 24mp sensor, and the Z 7 featuring a 45mp sensor - this gives the cameras a different ISO range, as well as quicker continuous shooting on the Z 6, with 12fps available. In front of this is the shutter unit. You can view more photos below, showing more angles.

Interesting to see all the electronic processing action on the one sparse circuit board.
