Serene Waterfall Awarded POTW Accolade: wailing widow

A very peaceful waterfall image has been awarded the Photo of the Week accolade this week.

The image, titled 'The Wailing Widow' is by ePz member CliffGreen and there's why we thought it deserved to win the accolade:

We loved the simplicity and beauty of this image. It uses portrait orientation excellently to showcase the waterfall in all its glory and keep enough of the surrounding rock face in place to give a sense of environment.

The shutter speed used is just right, in order to create a smooth flow of water but still leave some texture there. The rocks in the waterfall have created intricate geometric patterns that are a pleasure to look at. The eye glides down the waterfall, taking in all the different elements. A really well taken and somewhat magical capture.

POTW winners currently receive a 32GB EVO MicroSDHC card with SD adapter courtesy of Samsung. See all the winners of the Photo of the Week accolade in the POTW gallery
