Shipwrecked 'Sabrina' Wins Photo Of The Week Title

An old fishing vessel which rests on the banks of Mulroy Bay takes centre-stage in the long exposure, ePHOTOzine has crowned as Photo of the Week (POTW). 

Captured by Johnnybairdphotography, 'Sabrina' can be seen surrounded by cool calm waters that were smoothed out by the 4-minute exposure used to wipe out the lifeless clouds that were spoiling the background of the shot. 

"Often long exposures are used to provide a sense of the passing of time - I think it is fitting here with time passing Sabrina by as she sits silently on the banks of the Bay, never to voyage again, " says Johnny in his description. 

The ePHOTOzine team like the moody feel this image has which is exaggerated by the blue tones and dark vignette that focuses the eye on the ageing wreck. The darker tones used in the surround make the peeling red and white paint really stand out, further creating a sense of age and abandonment within one's mind. 'Sabrina's Retirement' is a wonderfully poignant image that's also a credit to the photographer's skills.
