Verdict
Shutter Buddies are a novel creation designed to make children more inclined to smile when professional or high quality family photos are taken.

Shutter Buddy Features
Shutter Buddies are made of a cotton like material and have felt arms, eyes, and a tongue. The googly eyes are plastic. It has internal elastic to secure it to pretty much any DSLR or mirrorless lens. The opening is too large to successfully secure the shutter buddy on a compact camera. Shutter buddies come in a variety of designs; the one we received is the frog model. Also available are a range of animal versions, including octopus, owl and caterpillar. You can also get sunshine, flower and alien versions, so there's something to make every child happy. All Shutter Buddies have a built in squeaker to get the attention of the child.
Shutter Buddy Performance
We all know that children, especially the very young, are very difficult to get good photographs of at the best of times. The Shutter Buddy fits around the camera lens using elastic and does not obscure the lens in any way. It is very easy to put on and take off of the lens. Not only do these fun lens props make the kids smile, they make your camera bright and cheerful too!
Value For Money
Shutter Buddies vary from around £11 to £15, depending on the type you want. For example, the flower is £11.23, but the frog version shown here is £15.19. Pricing seems to depend on how much material and detail each Buddy uses. They are expensive for a piece of elasticated material, but there seems to be nothing else exactly like them on the market at present so the product is unique. You can also buy Shutter Buddies in bundle packs of 12 for the price of 7 for £91.82 and 4 for the price of 3 for £38.97. The Shutter Buddy is quirky and fun. It is a unique way of making your camera look more friendly to kids – making them more inclined to 'smile for the camera!' They are a great idea, and well worth investing in if you are a professional photographer or want to try and make your child smile for more photos.Shutter Buddy Pros
