Weibo is a social media channel many people seem to leak information about new smartphones, and smartphone technology, on and the latest leak comes from a user who wants to tell the world about a new Sony sensor.
Apparently, the Sony IMX607 is a 38-megapixel CMOS Image Sensor that could appear in new flagship smartphones.
The original post is in Chinese but the person sharing the information suggests the sensor will offer better low light performance and they've also posted the product brief (which is in English).
Of course, there's no confirmation on if the specs are true but as Sony makes an announcement, we'll let you know.
In other Sony sensor news, they announced the Sony IMX586 sensor (48MP) back in July and Samsung have also introduced a 48-megapixel image sensor that could be featured in future devices.
