Sony Introduces The Sony Xperia 10 IV & Sony Xperia 1 IV Smartphones

Sony's declared mission statement is to produce award-winning, positive technology that people want and with this in mind, they are introducing two new mobile devices -  the Sony Xperia 10 IV & Sony Xperia 1 IV. Their aim is to inspire users as well as content creators with smartphones that are 'the perfect companion for everyday life' that offer features such as large batteries, impressive displays and camera features we've come to expect to see on DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras. 

The Xperia 10 IV is an ultra-lightweight smartphone featuring a 5000mAh battery, optical image stabilisation, better camera performance and increased screen brightness while the Xperia 1 IV continues the focus on content creation with the following new stand-out features:

• World's first true optical zoom lens with 85-125mm focal length
• 120fps high-speed readout image sensor for all three lenses
• 4K 120fps, up to 5x slow-motion video recording
• Real-time Eye autofocus (AF)
• 20fps AF/AE burst shooting in HDR on all three lenses
• "Videography Pro," and "External monitor" with live streaming
• 4K 120Hz display that's 50% brighter
• 5000mAh battery

On the Xperia 1 IV you get three ZEISS-quality lenses that offer 16mm, 24mm and 85-125mm focal lengths, real-time Eye AF, real-time object tracking and optical SteadyShot. The dynamic range has been improved and you also get 20fps burst shooting in HDR on all three lenses as well as AI white balance and an RGB IR sensor. The battery measures 5000mAh and you can quick charge the device up to 50% battery in around 30-minutes. 

Other features include the familiar, long Sony smartphone design, IP65 and IP68 ratings and 5G compatibility that will switch to 4G depending on the signal strength. 

The Sony Xperia 10 MK IV also has three lenses: 16mm, 27mm and 54mm as well as a 6" OLED display featuring Gorilla Glass Victus. The camera has been improved so you can capture clearer close-ups, better selfies and improved night shots. Extended dynamic range is also available. 

Pricing and Availability: The Xperia 1 IV will be available to buy from 16 June 2022 for approximately £1299 while the Xperia 10 IV will be on sale from mid-June 2022 for approximately £429.
