A new power zoom Sony E 18-105mm f/4 PZ G OSS E-Mount lens for Sony NEX mirrorless cameras features a 72mm filter thread, optical image stabilisation, and is due to be launched mid September, with an estimated retail price of £499.
Build quality is very good and this is the first Sony G branded lens for the Sony E-Mount, with the lens giving the equivalent of 27 - 158mm in 35mm terms, it features a size zoom control for electronic zoom and variable close focus of 0.45m-0.95m. The introduction of this lens and the new Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 16-70mm f/4 ZA OSS lens brings the total number of lenses to 16.
