A metal frame encases front/back Gorilla Glass construction and the 21:9 CinemaWide display measures 6.1-inch (Full HD+ OLED).

The Xperia 5 features a triple-lens camera (16mm super wide-angle lens, 26mm lens and a 52mm portrait/tele lens that's 35mm Equiv.) with 12MP sensors and Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation. 

With the Xperia 5, you’re able to track the action with continuous burst shooting at up to 10 fps AF/AE tracking (Auto Focus and Auto Exposure) and the Xperia 5 can also make increased AF/AE calculations at up to 30fps allowing you to capture moving subjects with precision focus. Plus, photography advice is built-in along with a Cinema Pro mode so you can create multiple projects with different settings as well as adjust white balance, manual focus and audio recording levels. You can also trim individual clips/merge them together and access look colour management pre-sets to give your video footage specific cinematic looks. Video is captured in 4K HDR and you have access to 24fps settings. 

Low light images are possible thanks to a bright f/1.6 aperture, 1.4μm pixel pitch, a Dual Photo Diode image sensor and RAW noise reduction technology. 

Other features include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform, IP65/68 water/dust resistance, USB PD fast charging and a 3140mAh battery. 

The Xperia 5 ships with Android 9 Pie from Friday 4 October 2019 and is available in Blue, Black and White.
