where the image with the most 'likes' will be crowned the champion. The winner of the facebook competition will be awarded the new Sigma DP2 Merrill
, worth £799.
The Spirit of the Games competition is all about capturing some great shots which show what the Games means to you – the people, the atmosphere and the celebrations.
The competition opens at the start of the Olympic Games in the UK on the 28 July 2012 and photographers are invited to submit up to five of their images capturing the Spirit of the Games.
Despite wanting to feature images taken of the Games themselves, LOCOG have placed restrictions on amateur and professional photographers alike. As a result, Sigma UK are inviting photographers to submit pictures showing the people, the build-up and the atmosphere from outside the arenas together with local sporting events inspired by the Games. Please ensure your submitted images do not contravene the terms
and conditions of your ticket.
The closing date for entries is 31 August 2012, however to allow time for fair selection of images, Sigma have not set a deadline for the facebook competition at this point. The images will be hosted on facebook for a period of 2 weeks giving you time to ‘Like’ your favourite images. An exact closing time and date will be announced nearer the time.
