Tips On Sport Photography With The Samsung Galaxy NX

Whether it's at your local park at an amateur level, or at a regional or national match, why not head out and photograph some sports in your local area?

As well as Julian's top tips, here are some basic things to consider when shooting sports:

Shutter Speed - To minimise the amount of motion blur in your shots, you'll need to use a relatively fast shutter speed. Try around 1/600 and if your shots are still a little blurred, try increasing the shutter speed some more. Be aware though, that if you increase the shutter by a lot, you will need to open the aperture wider to compensate, narrowing the depth of field meaning you might not be able to get the whole image sharp.  

Consider different angles - Sports photography is sometimes not all about the players. Although this is often the case, consider a shot of the crowd or the manager of a football team, as these shots can often be just as powerful as action shots of the players. It's handy to follow the action of the match through the lens and set the camera to manual focus, too, so you're ready to shoot should the perfect shot opportunity arise. 

Continuous/ burst mode - Sports photography is often quite fast paced and so it can help to use a continuous shooting mode, allowing you to capture several shots in a second, so that you have plenty to choose from at the end of the day, and you can guarantee that you'll not miss the moment.
