A stunning mountain image has been awarded the POTW accolade this week.
The photo, entitled 'Arc of climbers' by rontear was chosen by the team here at ePHOTOzine this week, and here's why we thought it deserved to win the accolade:
This is a truly breathtaking image that really allows you to take in the scale of the scenery. It's an excellent example of using people in a landscape image to really show the sheer size of the mountains.
Of course, in this example, the climbers are the main point of interest and they really help to lead the eye through the image and across to the undulating path heading off into the distance. Black and white was a good choice to really make the shapes and textures on offer the main focus of the image and remove the possibly distracting colours of the climbers' attire. The crop of the image has been placed well to make the surrounding rocks look foreboding due to lack of skyline. This is a fantastic adventure image.
Winners of the Photo of the Week accolade currently receive a 32GB MicroSDHC Card with SDHC adapter. You can see all the images that have been awarded the accolade in the POTW gallery.
