A breathtaking capture of a hummingbird in mid flight has been awarded Photo of the Week.
| ePHOTOzineA beautiful capture of a hummingbird hovering in mid-air has been awarded the POTW accolade this week.
The image, by ePz member RobDem is titled 'Flying Hummingbird' and here's why we thought it deserved to win the accolade:
This is an expertly captured image, with the beady eye of the hummingbird and its colourful throat grabbing the viewer's attention. The body and head of the bird are still while the feverishly beating wings are blurred, giving a real sense of movement to the image.
You can just make out some dappled green colours in the dark background of the image, offering a little indication of the bird's environment. The image has been well framed, with the image looking very classical and artistic. A really special capture that the photographer should be proud of.
Photo of the Week winners currently receive a 32GB MicroSDHC card with SD adapter courtesy of Samsung. See all the images that have received the award in the POTW gallery.
