Are you selling images or a lifestyle with your photos? Someone who's got the later down to a tee is Gray Malin and Stuart Fawcett went along to his new exhibition to learn more.
| EventsGray Malin is clearly a very good photographer, but unlike like many others when you search Google for his name you don’t just get images, you get lifestyle accessories from iconic prints to home collection trays, as well as iPhone cases and screensavers of bright energetic open style images. You’ll read of interior designers boasting about decorating client apartments with his work and you feel like you’re walking into a very aspirational happy optimistic brand – it’s quite compelling really. Just click on the lifestyle blog on his site and you will see for yourself much more than just a photographic image.

Gray has partnered with Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts to show off the beauty of the Le Méridien hotel locations around the World and the latest exhibition of his work is being held in Le Méridien Piccadilly in London.
The exhibition is titled 'The Art of Living' and was shot in Le Méridien’s Bora Bora resort with unbelievably blue seas and an amazingly shiny floating platform showcasing a very relaxed open idea of enjoying yourself in everyday situations such as breakfast and at the office.

The idea here is that of 'destinations unlocked', where amazing photographs show off each of the hotel locations and capture the essence of the location and offering of the resort. Gray has also captured images of Le Méridien hotels in Barcelona and Bhutan with strikingly different but similar photos.

Gray is now working on new ideas for other Le Méridien locations and will, no doubt, have more locations to follow. Personally, I’m really looking forward to London getting a Malin Makeover.
Gray says he avoids post processing to keep true to the locations and promotes Instagram as an excellent showcase for photographers work to become noticed. He was in London with Takka Russel so, hopefully, some superb London locations will follow.
