Take A Look At The 25 Images Shortlisted For The Wildlife Photographer Of The Year: People's Choice Award: Giraffe Manor in Nairob

The shortlist for the People’s Choice Award in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition has been announced and nature fans have until 10 January 2017 to vote for their favourite image.

Images which have made the shortlist include a photo of a giraffe visiting for breakfast, an atmospheric image of 20 million Mexican free-tailed bats arriving at a cave, a black and white image of snow monkeys huddle together keeping warm and a lovely shot of a polar bear cub hitching a ride on its mother's back.

It was announced earlier this year that American photographer Tim Laman won the overall Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2016 title with hs image 'Entwined lives' which shows an orangutan climbing a tree from above within a wide-angle perspective of the forest below.

Tim's image, along with the other winning shots selected by an international panel of judges, are currently on display at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum in London where the winning image from the public vote will also be showcased until the exhibition closes on 10 September 2017. The top five People’s Choice Award images will also be displayed online along with all of the winning entries.
