The ten overall winners of this year's professional category for the Sony World Photography Awards have now been announced.
| CompetitionsThe prestigious Sony World Photography Awards (SWPA) showcase the work of some of the best photographers from around the world and the latest edition of the competition doesn't disappoint, with images that are awe-inspiring, topical and well-worthy of the titles they've won.
In the Professional competition, there were ten categories which covered everything from contemporary issues and current affairs to much more abstract ideas such as still life photographs of tattoos. The winning selection also includes image captured with drones and a series that focuses on the rather controversial topic of assisted suicide.
As well as the Professional category winners, documentary photographer Martin Parr received an award for his 'outstanding contribution to photography'.
Below you'll find the details of the photographers who won each category along with some of their winning work. The images are on display at Somerset House, London.
