Image Ideas With The S 50-150mm Lens

The S 50-150mm lens is Samsung's latest edition to the NX lens range. It's a zoom lens with a fast f/2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range. It will be a welcome addition to Samsung's NX lenses, sitting between the 16-50mm f/2-2.8 and further-reaching 18-200mm lens with f/3.5-6.3 aperture. Here are some ideas for subjects that will be ideal to shoot with this lens:

Architecture

This lens enables some great images of architecture from a distance, and if you need to remove elements from the shot, there is the option to zoom in and omit it from the image. With closest focus of 98cm, some great abstracts can also be achieved. 

Candid Portraiture

With a zoom range starting at 50mm, the 'standard' length, the lens is ideal for portraits, as 50mm is roughly how the eye sees the world. This, with the ability to zoom and capture subjects from a distance, sets you up for some great candid shots in close spaces, such as shopping streets or parks. 

Zoo/ captive wildlife images

A lens with a modest zoom such as this and a wide aperture to enable lovely blurred backgrounds is ideal for zoo and captive animal photography, allowing you to blur out the harshness of fencing and cages and also providing enough reach to capture those shyer animals without being too large. 

Landscapes

A lens such as this allows for various focal length framing of the landscape, enabling you to find a view which is composed well without necessarily having to move far from the original destination to capture it. 

Fast moving subjects 

With quick focusing speeds and a manual focusing ring allowing you to make subtle adjustments while following a moving subject, this lens sets you up to enable great captures of race cars, motorbikes, or animals and people participating in sports.
