Tamron Blog: Decaying Vegetation As A Focus For Photography : 1/500 sec | f/5.0 | 52.0 mm | ISO 100

We've walked away from the lovely St Mary's Lighthouse this week in pursuit of a topic that's much more accessible to all and that's decaying vegetation. With the seasons rapidly changing, this is a subject all of us shouldn't have trouble with as the bare branches of trees and the last remaining skeletons of plants should still be standing in parks and gardens around the UK.

Decaying vegetation doesn't sound the most photogenic subject but actually, with the right angle, lens and weather, these plants which are at the end of their days actually make interesting macro subjects.

Again, Rick's put the 16-300mm lens to use which is capable of producing lovely looking bokeh which is perfect for macro photography. Lit by afternoon winter sunlight and winter berries adorning the background of some of the shots, there's definitely an Autumn-come-Winter theme to the image which is a stark contrast to the summer bloom shots we've become accustomed to seeing in the Tamron gallery

Next week we're tackling a 'love it or loathe it' subject: graffiti.
