Tamron Blog: Nurburgring Action Captured On Video

We were lucky enough to experience the Nurburgring and the Tamron 16-300mm came along for the ride.

If you're a petrol head, visiting the Nurburgring is probably on your bucket list and Josh, our Tech Ed who happens to also be a car junkie, was lucky enough to visit the motorsports complex on his last vacation.

Of course, photography played a huge part of his trip and the Tamron 16-300mm was packed alongside his shorts, sun cream and guidebooks. Lucky for us, this means he has plenty of trackside action to share with us which includes the above video.

'Where are the photos?' we hear you ask in disappointment Well, they'll arrive next week but for now, we want to discuss shooting video with your DSLR.

Capturing video footage along with stills is something more and more photographers are doing now and even on the rather old Canon 600D body we're shooting with, you can capture 1080p quality so having an older camera isn't a good enough excuse for you to not capture video yourself.

As the footage shows, you don't need really expensive glass either to capture good quality video footage as the Tamron 16-300mm can be picked up for a reasonable £400 and it performed brilliantly as car after car went around the track. Yes, our footage is a little wobbly towards the end but that's more down to the person behind the kit and with practice, or by using a tripod with a pan head on it, the footage would be much smoother all the way through.

Anyway, the point we are trying to make is please don't be afraid of trying something new as you never know, you might actually be really good at it.
