Tamron SP 15 30mm VC USD Lens (3)

The new Tamron SP 15-30mm Di VC USD lens is an ultra-wide-angle full-frame lens, with vibration compensation (VC) optical image stabilisation, a constant f/2.8 aperture, Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD) focusing, and is weather sealed. The lens is designed to deliver superb image quality and performance, although the price and release dates are yet to be announced. The vibration compensation system has been specifically tuned for wide-angle shots, giving excellent results in low light or night shots. The lens also features 9 curved aperture blades for smooth background blur (bokeh).

Can't wait for this to be available. Deciding against Nikon 14-24mm now because this one has VC, and if the Tamron 24-70mm VC and 70-200mm VC is any indicator, this will be another great lens!

I've been waiting for this lens for some time. I have their previous full-frame wide angle, the 17-35 f2.8/4 and it is an amazing lens, with superb sharpness and colour rendition. Although a tad soft on the edges, the chromatic aberrations are practically zilch. I therefore have high hopes for this baby and will probably upgrade to this together with their other new f2.8 full frame lenses. Way to go Tamron!

I'd have thought that this lens would have been available by Christmas. Alas, no. Any news anybody?

News is that this will be released on the 25th of December in Japan for Nikon and Canon simultaneously. As soon as it's available we will be reviewing it. Thanks.
