The Alice Camera brings together the experience of a smartphone with the quality of a DSLR camera to shoot, edit and share high-quality 4K content instantly.

British start-up company Photogram has announced that it's launching a new camera for content creators that combines a smartphone with a DSLR to bring image quality and connectivity seamlessly together in one device.
The Alice Camera, which has been launched as part of an online pre-order campaign, is a camera unit that mounts to the back of most smartphones (although it can also work unattached), allowing users to shoot and share images/video of a higher quality without losing any of the speed/instant sharing smartphone connectivity offers.
A native iOS and Android app connect the camera to a smartphone, allowing the users to control the camera via the touchscreen interface while fast wireless data transfer between camera and phone gives users a real-time viewfinder on their smartphone screen.
As for image quality, a 4/3 image sensor, which is eight times bigger than the ones in smartphones, is built-in along with dual native ISO and a quad-bayer structure that provides excellent low-light performance, high dynamic range and low noise. AI also provides automatic scene capture and enhanced image processing.
The ability to attach a Micro Four Thirds lens to Alice makes it even more useful, too, as there are over 50 lenses it is currently compatible with. Plus, you can attach an adapter to use lenses with different mounts.
Alice will be regularly updated via software updates and as the software is open-source, it can be customised.
The Alice Camera will be shipped to pre-order customers in the Autumn when an RRP will be £750 for the body only. However, the Alice Camera can be ordered today via the Indiegogo campaign for a special pre-order price which starts from £550 (26% discount).
