Nikon recently worked with renowned macro photographer Alberto Ghizzi Panizza on a project to show the hidden beauty of rust.

During the project Alberto used specialist macro Nikkor lenses including the AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/3.5G ED VR, AF-S VR Micro NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED, AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G and AF-S Micro NIKKOR 60mm f/2.8G ED

The images were made in Bilkyrkogården Kyrkö Mosse junkyard, a car cemetery in Sweden. Commenting on his experience, Alberto Ghizzi Panizza said, "In macro photography you are always looking for interesting colours and textures, so for me, Bilkyrkogården Kyrkö Mosse was a wonderland. The Micro NIKKOR lenses allowed me to capture, in crisp detail, the 60-year battle between the abandoned cars and mother nature trying to reclaim her forest once again. The four lenses I used for this shoot were critical to enable me to get closer to the action and reveal the ‘beauty of rust’ in a way never seen before."
