Levon Biss is a portrait photographer by trade, but recently he turned his hand to macro photography to produce some detailed images of insects from Oxford University's Museum of Natural History.

Levon uses a Nikon D800E to create these insect marvels, along with Nikon 200mm prime lenses. He adds tube lenses, and Nikon Plan Fluor microscope objectives, to be able to achieve such clarity close up.

Levon says he's been interested in macro photography for a long time but it took his son bringing him an insect from the garden to photograph to spark the idea to get more involved in insect imagery.

An exhibition of Levon's images will be on at the Oxford Museum of Natural History between 27 May - 30 October 2017.
