The Photography Show closed its doors yesterday for another year, after welcoming thousands (including ePHOTOzine) across four action-packed days through its doors.

According to the TPS team, leading manufacturers and retailers ended on a high, reporting positively across all days of the event and visitors were equally as inspired and impressed.

Hundreds of speakers took to the various stages across the event with the iconic Super Stage headlined by the legendary David Bailey, BBC Wildlife presenter and photographer, Chris Packham, local-born International Fashion Photographer, Lara Jade, renowed US photographers Scott Kelby, Alec Soth and Bruce Gilden plus Peter Dench and Dan Rubin.

Visitors took to the pews of the all-new Wedding & Portrait Stage to hear the likes of Kevin Mullins and Kate Hopewell-Smith and engaging content on the also new Mobile & Social Stage included sessions from leading Instagrammer, Jess Angell (Miss Underground), and young fashion photographer Harleymoon Kemp, who shared their insights on How To Be Instagram Famous and How To Create Content That Gets You Noticed On Social Media, respectively.

Commenting on the show, Technical Product Specialist at Panasonic, Mark Baber, said: "This has been our best show ever! It has exceeded all of our expectations in terms of sales, footfall and the customer reaction to our products. We feel like customers have listened to our messages over the last year, and have used The Photography Show to try and buy our products; the show is and will continue to be a great platform for us."

Product Marketing Manager at Canon UK, Daniel Benjamin said: "We've seen a huge number of visitors to our new stand location and there has been much excitement for our new products, including the EOS-1D X Mark II and EOS 80D - it’s great to show them to so many visitors for the first time. Our live stage has also been really popular, with people interested in hearing how Pro’s such as Lara Jade and Andy Rouse use our cameras. The show is an important platform for us to showcase our latest products and technologies and it’s also a great opportunity for us to speak directly to people buying our kit and using our products and hear their thoughts."

In line with changes to content and marketing to attract a new audience to the show, Head of Imaging for Sony UK & Ireland, Frederik Lange said: "This show is getting better year on year and is important to the UK market. Visitors are becoming more diverse and we have seen more interested young customers, which for us, is key."

Group Marketing Manager at Nikon, Jeremy Gilbert also said: "We’ve seen a constant stream of people, including broader reach in terms of demographic, giving us a fantastic mix of customers but it has also been a great opportunity to show off core DSLR products to our core audience. The show has been superb and we will be back next year."

National Marketing Manager for Olympus UK, Mark Thackara, also spoke of a successful show experience for the brand this year. He said: "There is something marvellous about the interaction at The Photography Show and the quality of visitors and this year has been better than ever – we’ve really enjoyed it."

Event Manager for The Photography Show, Cassandra Grant, rounded up this year’s event, saying: "We are ending the show on a high after a successful and exuberant four days. Combined with the hugely positive comments from our exhibitors, this highlights the fact that the photography industry is still very much an exciting place and we are already looking forward to developing the show further for 2017."

Show highlights can be viewed over on Youtube and The Photography Show will return to the NEC next year from 18-21 March.
