A wonderful natural light portrait has been awarded ePHOTOzine's Photo of the Week accolade.

The image '*****' by ePz member MattyEdwards has been chosen by the staff here at ePHOTOzine and below you can find out why we thought it deserved to be the winner this week:

This image is gently lit with subtle changes in shades, making it really calming to look at. Focus is trained solely on the face and a shallow depth of field had been used to draw attention to it.

The eye is drawn to the dark, deep gaze of the model's eyes which makes the viewer wonder what the model is thinking. The whole image is relaxing and serene, with the curves and contours of the model's body leading the eye through the image.

The background gives just a hint of the room the model is in, without taking attention away from the main subject. This is a well thought out image that really invokes a sense of stillness and deep thinking.

POTW winners currently receive a £100 voucher from Zippi. Take a look at the Photo of the Week Gallery where all shots that have received the award are displayed.
