5 Tips On Creating Photobooks

Photobooks are a great way to show-off and preserve photographs but trying to come up with different ways to display your images in the books, particularly when you've created a few, can become tricky. With this in-mind, we've put together 5 tips which will hopefully give you new ideas and inspiration for next time you design a photobook.

What To Use Them For?

As well as using them as photo albums where you keep shots from your holidays and days out, photo books can be used by photographers as a way to showcase their work to clients. The different styles and sizes available mean you can customise a design to create the perfect presentation.

Capture shots of your kids and even their creations which you can place in a photo book and send to Grandma or keep them for your children to have once they're a little older.

If you enjoy a particular hobby, apart from photography, why not document it in a photo book? Panoramas, or sweeping vista shots of scenery can make great covers for your book. You can also show off your skills by putting a panorama as a double page spread in the book, filling two pages with just one image, to really draw attention to it.

Collages

Most photobook software allows you to adjust the angles of the photos you're using so why not try and overlap them slightly to create a collage that's not only more interesting to look at but it'll mean you can use more photos on your pages.

Wording

Try adding a speech bubble to that photo of your dad buried in the sand, or a comment on a specific photo if you want to remember something specifically related to it. This can also help other viewers of your book to understand why photos mean something to you.
