Unseen Lithuania DVDUnseen Lithuania is a DVD slideshow of aerial images taken by photographer, Maruis Jovaiša. The images cover some of the most beautiful and historically important areas of the Lithuanian landscape, all with the unique viewpoint of being taken from the air.

The first section of the DVD contains the main slideshow. The images are without a doubt of a very high standard throughout and each image is accompanied by subtitle which overlaps the image at the bottom of the screen, which I found a little annoying to tell the truth as the longer subtitles can detract from the images. Each caption gives a little information about where the image was taken, and quite often includes the odd interesting fact about the region. The slideshow itself has no sound, so you are left to simply appreciate the images (and read the subtitles), which is fine by me, although those with short attentions spans, (such as myself) will soon find their focus starts to drift after twenty or so slides. The DVD is licensed for publicscreenings, so I suppose this part of the DVD would be best suited for that.

Other sections on the DVD include an animated slideshow of the same images where the pictures have been animated and blended in a way that is quite effective, adding to the visual interest of the slideshow and providing something that is easier to sit and watch. After that you are treated to an advertising trailer for the DVD you're watching and a bit of background information about how the images were taken, whether it be from a light aircraft or balloon.

Unseen Lithuania DVDUnseen Lithuania DVD: Verdict
As a document of Lithuania's unique landscape, taken from a unique viewpoint, Unseen Lithuania is a high quality DVD photo slideshow that will be of interest to those intrigued by aerial photography, and/or Lithuania.

Those with a short attention span, or with no interest in either Lithuania, or aerial photography may find this DVD lacks enough interest to justify a lengthy 50 minute viewing session. Saying that the images are high quality, and some are really quite unusual.

Subtitles highlight interesting facts about locations images were taken in.
