Nikon Smart Portrait System: Coolpix L620
Nikon's Smart Portrait System is incorporated into Nikon's Coolpix range of cameras.

It includes a series of automatic functions, which when activated by the user will improve aspects of the portrait photo such as red eye, improved face priority, and warn if someone is blinking.

Here are some of the key features that Smart Portrait System incorporates:

Face-Priority AF - Face priority AF is available in all Coolpix models. It can automatically detect a person's face, then activate autofocus to focus on the face area. Face Priority is automatically activated when the camera is put into portrait mode. Face Priority will keep the focus on the faces in the image, even if the subject moves.

Red-eye fix - Nikon Coolpix cameras all feature an advanced red-eye reduction capability. If red-eye fix is set, it will automatically analyze the image for the presence of red-eye and eliminate it before the image gets saved to your memory card.

Smile Mode - In this mode the camera will wait until it detects a smile before firing the shutter. This more also incorporates Blink Proof, where the camera will take two sequential photos when it detects a smile, and choose the one where the subject's eyes are open.

Blink Warning - Your camera will warn you when someone has blinked, allowing you to delete the image without having to review it.

Skin Softening - Skin Softening uses face detection technology to make sure that your subjects have a smooth looking skin tone in images It can be applied in three adjustment levels to get your images just right.

D-Lighting - When D-Lighting is activated, it can save underexposed images or images that have excessive backlight by introducing light and detail where needed, while leaving correctly exposed areas of the image the same. The camera will save the D-Lighting improved image and a copy of the original image, too.
