Olympus OM-D and PEN cameras have a feature called Live Guide. Find out more here.
| Olympus OM-D E-M5 in Digital Cameras
Olympus Live Guide is a really useful feature for beginners that's found on OM-D and PEN cameras as well as the XZ-10 model.
Without any knowledge of shutter speeds or f/stops, the mode allows you to capture the shots you're after by selecting from a number of image customisation settings.
Live Mode can be accessed by setting your camera to iAuto mode. If you're using an OM-D, once you've set the camera to iAuto mode, there's a small tab with a green arrow on it on the right of the screen. Touch this, or press OK, and it'll bring up a selection of live view options:
- Change colour saturation
- Change colour image
- Change brightness
- Blur background
- Express motions
- Shooting tips
This is a great way to allow beginners to experiment with more advanced picture taking skills while they are still learning about more advanced settings.
You can see how the feature works in more detail over on the Olympus website.
