Slow sync flash is a great way to capture portraits with character.
| Nikon D5500 in Interchangeable LensesIf you shoot portraits in low light with flash, you might have noticed that even though your subject comes out great, the background is dark because the camera has exposed for your subject.
This can be frustrating if you want to capture the feeling of the image in the environment around it, and this is where the subject of today's article can help - slow sync shutter flash.
You can find out more about it in the above video but essentially, selecting this option from your flash menu will enable the camera to both light up your subject and make sure the background is still visible, too. Handy!
