Victor Habbick is a photographer, artist, designer and member of ePHOTOzine's Pro critique team. His work is published world wide and he supplies stock markets on a regular basis. His advice will range from kit choices and editing software to supplying agencies and finding inspiration. He describes his work as having commercial sensibilities with a touch of the surreal and you can find out more about this by visiting his ePHOTOzine profile or by visiting his personal website: Victor Habbick.
Here's his tip:
"Photography has many avenues and subject matters to choose from so try not restrict yourself to one particular area all the time. Break out and have a go at something else, never tried portraiture ask a friend, perhaps your locked into a studio environment most days, so get out into the city, country, seaside, whatever gets the juices flowing or gives you some new challenges. Forget the notion that know one will accept your photography outside your particular chosen field, forget about clicks and just do it for yourself and enjoy it.
Many people know me for photoshop images of a certain kind which is fair enough but what many people may not realise is that I photograph just about every subject matter there is both on a commercial basis and also for myself. Each area can throw up its own challenges and can in time often benefit other areas of my photography in unexpected ways.
I do have my favourite themes that I will return to time and again but I am first and foremost a professional commercial photographer and proud of it. My ability to adapt and change has seen me well down the years when many other fellow professionals have struggled to adapt.
I am more than happy with the 'jack of all trades' after all, in the end, its my job and my hobby!"
