Press Release: Wacom PL-720 Interactive Pen Display

Wacom, the leading manufacturer of pen tablets, interactive pen displays and intuitive interface devices, today announce that they have significantly reduced the price of the Cintiq 21UX, PL-720 and PL-521 interactive pen displays, as well as the Wireless Pen Tablet, making Wacom’s award-winning, high-end technology available to a much wider customer base.

The Cintiq 21UX combines a large 21.3in flat screen with high UXGA resolution of 1,600 x 1,200 pixels with 24-bit colour depth, enabling users to draw, navigate or animate directly on the screen with the pressure sensitive pen, providing perfect hand-eye co-ordination.

With a removable and adjustable stand, it replicates the traditional way of working when moving a piece of paper on a drawing board. The Cintiq 21UX shares the technological basis of Wacom’s professional product range for improved workflow and productivity. ExpressKeys are two freely programmable, four-button keypads that are preconfigured with frequently used modifier keys, such as CTRL, ALT, SHIFT and SPACE, and the Touch Strip acts like a scroll bar with presets to allow zooming and scrolling in various applications. The cordless and battery-free Grip Pen provides 5,080lpi and 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity for advanced precision and control.

The Cintiq 21UX is now priced at £1,799.99 including VAT.

PL Interactive Pen Displays

With its 17in or 15in screen size and ergonomic pen that enables users to input data directly onto the screen, the PL range of interactive pen dislays is ideal for presentations and education, audio editing, medical applications, command and control systems as well as office automation.

An ergonomic solution: the adjustable stand enables a presenter to spontaneously write and annotate directly onto the screen, in a similar way that a traditional overhead projector is used. Interaction is further improved as the presentation can be amended or added to directly on the screen, without the presenter having to turn away from the audience.

The 17in PL-720 offers a at SXGA resolution (1,280 x 1,024px) and is now priced at £999.99 including VAT, the 15in PL-521 offers an XGA resolution (1,024 x 768) is now priced at £799.99 including VAT.

Wireless Pen Tablet

Combining a sleek, attractive design with Bluetooth wireless technology that works up to 10 metres away from the computer, Wacom’s A5-sized Wireless Pen Tablet de-clutters the user’s workspace by eliminating unwanted cables and provides a relaxing and comfortable way to work.. Ideal for presentations, drawing, writing, navigating or editing images or videos, it offers a high resolution of more than 2,000dpi, enabling users to work with pinpoint accuracy.

Powered using a high quality, lithium polymer battery that provides up to 25 hours of continuous operation, the pen tablet offers two freely programmable buttons (ExpressKeys), which are located at the top of the tablet and can be customised to swap between tools or change tool properties. A pen offering 512 pressure levels and Wacom’s cordless and battery-free pen technology and a mouse are also included, and both input devices receive power from the tablet and are located by a signal on the tablet’s surface. Pressure sensitivity, positioning and other information is transferred from the tablet to the computer via Bluetooth wireless technology.
