Using The Dramatic Tone Filter On Olympus Cameras

Dramatic Tone is available as one of the Art filters on Olympus Micro Four Thirds cameras such as the Olympus OM-D E-M10 and Advanced compact cameras such as the Olympus Stylus 1. 

What does Dramatic Tone do to your images? 
Dramatic Tone highlights the lighter parts of the image and darkens the darker aspects like shadows, making the shot more contrasty and foreboding. It also gives colours in the shot a slightly washed out, retro feel. There is also the option to use Dramatic Tone in colour, or as black and white, as shown below.

When will it be useful? 
This filter could be useful for a variety of shots. In urban environments, it'll be ideal for giving a more edgy feel to the shot, and for cityscapes, it will help to emphasise the shapes and contours of the buildings. In landscapes, especially in wooded areas, it will be ideal for making the scene more moody and spooky if black and white isn't the look you're going for.
