A graceful portrait of a white tailed eagle has been awarded the Photo of the Week accolade.

This week's Photo of the Week accolade has been awarded to a proud portrait of a white-tailed eagle.
The image, entitled 'Sitting Pretty- White-tailed Eagle' by Jamie_MacArthur caught the team's eye and here's why we thought it deserved to win the accolade this week:
This is a very proud and somewhat classic portrait of a very graceful bird. The textures and subtle tones of its feathers stand out from the subtle tones of the foliage background. The yellow feet and beak bring a touch of brightness to the somewhat bleak surroundings. This feeling is added to by the streaks of rain caught in the capture.
The interesting shape of the branch on which the bird perches adds an artistic touch to the photo and the slightly off centre framing to give the bird space to look into works really well. A great capture.
