Outdoor photography: 3 reasons why you should invest in a pair of binoculars

Eschenbach 10x50

Reason 1: Look with both eyes!

This may seem obvious, but a human being is "made" to watch with both eyes. We have a stereoscopic field of view and looking into 2 tubes rather than one enables all our visual faculties. Even if camera lenses are more and more sophisticated, they provide only a partial view of what the natural surrounding can offer, especially when it comes to tracking moving objects. Amateur or professional photographer, if you want to step it up and capture all the subtleties of the fauna and flora around, nothing beats a great pair of binoculars!

Reason 2: Locate the scene!

As a true passionate photographer, locate the scene before taking all your gear with you. No need to clutter yourself with heavy cameras without knowing what you will do. Instead, take your binoculars and locate places and wildlife to photograph in the spot you've chosen. Where are birds nesting? How does the light play on the landscape? Where are the places that you can wait for hours in to get THE perfect shot? When looking for the best spots, make sure to take a pair of lightweight and efficient binoculars placed in their carrying case. Make sure they are water resistant, and that the case is handy to carry about.

Reason 3: Find the one!

In binoculars, just like cameras, technological innovations have done wonders. For over 100 years, the manufacturing techniques used by Eschenbach haven’t ceased to evolve. Nowadays binoculars are compact, handy, well designed, and – of course – extremely effective. The lenses benefit from treatments that prevent colour fringing or light distortion. They are filled with nitrogen and completely sealed: no more condensation on the optics. The cases are made of strong and light material. To summarize: binoculars are easy to carry, solid and will be your best friends in your search for the best shots on walks. They are also lighter and more suitable for "natural" observation than telescopes or professional cameras.
