Sony has unveiled a sensor roadmap at CEBit that features a new 100MP BSI CMOS sensor.
| Industry News
Sony has officially announced its new sensor roadmap and on it is a 100MP, BSI CMOS sensor for medium format cameras.
As well as the 100Mp BSI CMOS sensor, Sony also introduced a range of 'Starvis' sensors with high sensitivity. A number of these are HDR (High Dynamic Range) sensors, including one Micro Four Thirds sized sensor, the IMX294, capable of shooting 8-megapixel images. The sensor uses BSI CMOS technology, making it the first BSI CMOS sensor available in Micro Four Thirds size.
Sony is marketing the Starvis sensor as an image sensor for industrial use, but it could be an indication of what to expect in the future.
