What you get in the box
Besides the device itself, you also get a smart black Velcro case, the charger / power adapter, USB cable, USB driver, instruction manual, screwdriver and small four screws. The screwdriver allows you to change the hard drive contained within.
Whilst the case looks good, the sides of it are elastic and we found that when putting the device back in its case we sometimes hit the power button accidentally, causing some battery wastage. If you don't realise you've done this, the drive will shut-down automatically after 80 seconds, which saves you completely draining your battery unknowingly!
Card compatibility
We primarily used the drive with a 1 gigabyte XD card. It has very good compatibility though, with support for the main nine types of memory card (See specs above). Inserting and removing cards is very straightforward with the slots clearly labelled. Being picky, we think it would be worth having rubber seals over the card slots when not in use, to prevent dust and dirt finding their way into the device. Ease of use There's not actually a great deal to say here. This is a beautifully simple device to use. It's literally a case of: 1. Switch device on. (It boots up very quickly, in about 2 seconds). 2. Insert your memory card into the correct slot. 3. Press the copy button and wait till it finishes copying. And you're done. |

Verdict
Whilst we had this product for review, it was taken on a two week trip through four countries in Europe. During that time it performed faultlessly and withstood the baggage handling of three airports. We have little hesitation therefore in recommending it as a low cost and straightforward backup storage device.
