Following on from the successful launch of the Mi 10 and Mi 10T smartphone series, Xiaomi has introduced the Mi 11 premium smartphone to rival the likes of Samsung and Apple in the race to be the best/most popular smartphone brand currently available.
Xiaomi, who is one of the fastest-growing premium smartphone brands on the market, made photography a main focus of the Mi 10 range and the Mi 11 doesn't seem to be any different with an impressive line-up of cameras and built-in photography themed technology.
The Mi 11 features a 108MP f/1.9 wide camera with PDAF and OIS, 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide camera and a 5MP f/2.4 macro camera. Video capture is available at 8K 24/30fps as well as 4K at 30/60fps and 1080p which is supported by gyro-EIS. On the front is a 20Mp wide-angle camera.
Video also seems to be a big feature of the Mi 11 with various video filters built-in, modes which give you one-click video options and even a low light video option. Other creative photography features found in the camera app include three night modes when capturing stills, HDR and a Pro time-lapse option.
Xiaomi says the cameras are some of the best found in a premium smartphone which will be putting to the test as soon as we get a Mi 11 in for review. It will certainly be interesting to see how it performs when compared with the Samsung Galaxy S21 range which has an all-new Director's View mode and other impressive video features.
The display on the Mi 11 measures 6.81-inches which sits in a thin frame with no bezels and rounded corners. In fact, all of the edges are curved, even the rear camera unit. The front-facing camera is a cutout of the screen top left and an under-display fingerprint sensor is built-in.
Other features include a 4600mAh battery, fast charging, fast wireless charging and stereo speakers but there's no headphone jack.
3 colour options are available (blue, grey and white) along with two RAM/ROM options. Prices start at 749 Euros which when you compare it to other premium smartphones makes it a very interesting option. We'll give you our full opinion once we've put the Mi 11 through a full test.
