Alongside the 108MP Penta smartphone, Xiaomi has also introduced the Redmi Note 8T with a 48MP quad-camera. 

The Redmi Note 8T features a 48MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor and on the front is a 13MP AI selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The front camera also includes a panorama selfie feature - a first for the Redmi Note series - that can capture group images without cropping anyone out.

The dewdrop selfie camera sits at the top of a 6.3" display that's constructed from Corning Gorilla Glass 5 (as is the back of the smartphone). Additionally, the Redmi Note 8T is also covered in a special nano-coating to make the device splash-resistant.

Other features include a 4000mAh battery, 18W charging over USB Type-C, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset and NFC. 

In the UK, the Redmi Note 8T will be available in Starscape Blue (4GB + 64GB) starting at £169.99 which puts it in the budget smartphone range. Sales will start on 22 November 2019.
