You May Be A Photographer, But Are You An Artist?:

"When you push the shutter and take a photo you are a photographer but are you an artist?" Says world-renown artist Roger Ballen whose famous for capturing imagery that's a little strange and often described as extreme. "As an artist, I use photography as a medium to express my artistic vision. Here are some thoughts that, hopefully, inspire you to do the same."

Ballen shares his thoughts in the 3-minute video (WARNING: it's not a video everyone will find comfortable watching) shown below, by COOPH, which is split into 7 topics:

  1. The Purpose Of Art
  2. Redefine Your World
  3. Visual Relationships
  4. A Vision Is Unique
  5. Search Within
  6. Break Through Your Mind
  7. Face Your Fears

"Good pictures bed themselves deep inside your psyche. Why do some works stick? Why are some works fleeting? If you ponder this, then you may be an artist," Roger Ballen.
